![]() Little Missouri River Tuesday, 19 August, 2008 I spent 2 weeks in North Dakota. Ya never really know what the weather will be like there and I have not been there in August for some 16 years. Usually August is hot, stifling hot. But, living in the South has pretty much conditioned me for any hot you can toss my way. The weather while I was there was as perfect as the weather could have been. It almost made me wonder why I chose to leave. Ask me that again if I ever visit in the pits of January or February. I think I would be quick to remember. I took my family to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which is where I go at least once. But, this time I did more walking around than I usually do, and in doing so I stumbled across the view of the Little Missouri River as it winds through the terrain. For some reason I have been passing by this spot, having either forgotten it was here, or just not realizing that the walk up to the top of the ridge in the right light gives such a feeling of freedom and peace. ~Little Missouri River.
