Puff into the Wind

This past Mother's Day was the first where I didn't talk to my mother. I'm only guessing it was the first, simply because I don't remember one otherwise. My mother does not talk anymore and I cannot visit with her the way I used to. I'm hoping to get back on the airplane to see her. I am very sad about this turn of events. Anyway, I love going back to North Dakota.

Time certainly stands still for no one, and I find that days just keep going by. My oldest daughter turned 16 last week. Now she's wanting a car, and is scheduled to take her driving test next week. I look in the mirror and I can't imagine, really. Time keeps marching on.

I am still trying to swim. I find I get very tired very easily. Those little people that swim lap after lap have me completely confused. I am pretty stubborn, though. I will likely keep trying until I feel I've accomplished this silly swimming thing. I have a time and a distance that I'm shooting for. So far, I need to be able to go that distance. Never minding the time right now. Baby steps, or whatever.

This spring is beautiful. I brought in from the garden the most stunning peony ever. I am so proud of this flower. It brings a smile to me everytime I walk past it.

Last night I set up the darkroom for my daughter, who needed to make some prints for class. Then she realized that she didn't bring enough paper home, so she couldn't finish the printing. So, since everything was set up and stuff, I made a couple of quick prints. This is one of them.
