![]() Crabapple Friday, 11 April, 2008 I find myself at home alone right now. It's a Friday night and it's 8pm. It's very odd. I had dinner and sipped a glass of red wine while swinging on my back porch swing. It's been raining all evening and the birds were singing crazily in the fading light. I found myself daydreaming and eventually I think I drifted to a state of light sleep. I got up and wandered back into the house and had a half-way glance at the pile of dirty dishes in the sink and the pile of unfolded clothes on the chair. uhmph. Maybe later. Today was a Friday off. Initially I thought I would go to the mountains to see what sort of spring blooms I could photograph, having heard that the trillium were blooming and the streams were flowing. But, overwhelmed with the need to rest I decided to stay home. Well, and there were storms predicted and the wind was really kicking. I didn't rest, but managed to take advantage of the sun and did some yard work. I say it's work, but for me it's really not. It's more like therapy, and I seem to wait eagerly all winter for the time to be right to dig, fertilize, plant, dig more, and mulch. The rains tonight were my reward, I guess. I love the rains in spring. They are so much sweeter than the drizzles of winter. I also went to the photo place and picked up a roll of prints that I took at Eastertime and a roll of prints that the little one took using her Bratz toycamera. She took some great pictures. She was so proud of them when I gave them to her. She managed to run off with the package already, so I need to hunt down the negatives in case she decides to start gluing the prints to her bedroom walls. It was sort of funny that the other day she asked me to load the camera up with another roll of film, but I didn't have the right kind, so I told her no. She ran into the house to get her other camera that 'never runs out of film.' I think I missed an opportunity somehow. But, it's ok. She sees that she can still get a package of prints from the rolls of film. I finished the taxes tonight. Patting myself on the back. Last minute again, but I think I did a good job and after I think about it another day, I will e-file. Whew. Glad to have that over with. ~Crabapple snapshot, Polaroid 600. Comment (6) | Permalink |
