I am about to embark on another outdoor adventure of Tennessee wilderness tracking. I've lived here for almost 14 years now, and it's funny that once I got settled in, I sort of quit exploring. I seemed to have quit exploring short of finding all the interesting spots for weekend roadtrips. This time of year, the hardwood diversity lights up the landscape like neon signs along the hilly outcrops of the area leading to amphitheaters with deep pools and plunging waterfalls, and beautifully breathtaking vista overlooks. More common areas, like the Great Smoky Mountains, become crowded with people, and the roads get congested to the point of standstill. But, it's always worth it, in my opinion. About a week ago, the Smoky Mts area of Cove Mountain suffered a freak windstorm that left my favorite area closed due to down trees. I'm a lazy person when it comes to hauling in a big camera to play with, and I became frustrated by having to hike very far away from the car, or fighting large crowds of people, and so I've decided to look elsewhere for pretty scenery. Which leads me back to today and my late plans to hit the road on a wilderness trek.

I'm needing a new map, though. I find I can't be too spontaneous on what roads to take when I don't have a proper map.

I'm heading out. Maybe I'll have something interesting to post up here at a later time. Maybe not. It's all in the experience.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with apples. But, I thought this one was pretty. Hope everyone enjoyed a day with plastic crappy cameras yesterday.
